Hi, I'm Jules
I wholeheartedly believe in the resiliency of the human spirit—the capacity to endure, adapt, and grow even in the face of emotional pain. I have worked extensively with clients struggling with eating disorders, perfectionism, anxiety, and depression. I view the therapeutic process as a collaboration grounded in respect and understanding. Each individual brings expertise of their lived experience, while I bring clinical knowledge, evidence based treatments, compassion, and support. My goal is to offer a collaborative and compassionate therapeutic space that honors resiliency, authenticity, and meaningful change.
About Me
I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC #12107) with extensive experience treating clients in various clinical settings and levels of care. I graduated with my M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of San Diego. I have received training in evidence-based practices such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). I obtained specialized training in CBT for Perfectionism from The Beck Institute. Additionally, I have been trained in Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP).
My clinical experience with youth includes working with children and families at NC Child Development Center, where I implemented evidence-based treatments to neurodivergent populations. In the research setting, I worked as a project manager and study therapist serving veterans at The Department of Veterans Affairs in San Diego. In the residential setting, I have provided treatment at Veterans Village of San Diego, including individual therapy, group therapy, and crisis intervention to Veterans struggling with substance use, trauma, anxiety, and mood disorders. I also worked for UC San Diego Eating Disorder Center for Treatment and Research, a Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient setting, where I received extensive training in the assessment and treatment of eating disorders and co-occurring disorders. Prior to opening Comma Counseling, I worked in the traditional outpatient setting providing individual therapy, couples therapy, and family therapy. Currently, I work with the SDSU Athletic Department and support collegiate athletes with eating disorders.
Outside of work, you can find me spending quality time with my loved ones, searching for the perfect matcha latte, playing with my cats Gus and Frankie, and watching The Office on repeat.
